Police Report

Officer Love and Capt. Wiseman – Crime stats were presented. Working on “No Dumping” signs for area, as well as cameras donated by Keep Cincinnati Beautiful. Thefts in the East End are being tracked. Recreation Department Report

Katie Lear – Thanks for the donation from the East End Community!!! Summer Day Camp and Sports Camp are starting to enroll soon. Laura wants to be a full time mother for a while! Call the Rec center for latest events and more info @ 513- 281-3209. Contact: katie.lear@cincinnati-oh.gov

NSP Report

Patrice Allen – we have preliminary acceptance, and will know for sure by 2/5/09. The newsletter is set up and ready to roll! Submission deadline for the bi-monthly publication is the 1^st Thursday of the month of printing. We have a website http://cincyeastender.blogspot.com. Urban Forestry project is under way with marks on the street from Bain to Delta on where to plant trees. A fundraising note: we could sell plaques to go with the trees being planted in honor of a loved one, etc.

Old Business

Transportation Study/Bus Stops – No new news.

Collins Steps – Still in limbo with City Council, etc.

New Business

Invest in Neighborhoods – Status of program is not good. City is thinking about taking away funding, due to budget constraints, etc. Expect a delay in getting our funds for this year to us.

Agenda 360 – Push Cincinnati as a place to live, has a good deal of high powered execs involved.

Joint meeting with Columbia Tusculum/Linwood – We are going to have a coloborative meeting to brainstorm common grounds between the communities, and possible fundraising festival/parade. Also to discuss the problems with Annie’s and their upcoming liquor license renewal.

Bike Path Participation – Start thinking about possible routes that would be our favorite for getting the bike path through the East End

Call to order

Nick Motz - called to order for Laurie Keleher (slightly late) at 7:00 PM. An un-official motion was made to expedite meeting for 8PM dismissal for football. Contact: keleher.eastend@gmail.com

Police Report

Officer Love and Capt. Wiseman – Crime states were presented. Baptist Church at 3109 Riverside Drive was broken into and $3500+ of goods were stolen in December. Call with any info. Big bust/shootout occurred at Annie’s nightclub with shots fired, a chase, etc. Person was caught and now in jail. Call 513-765-1212 for any non-violent/emergency crimes. East End Veteran’s Memorial Victory Garden

Joe Corcoran – presented a request for community grant funds for the Urban Orchard project, which involves the planting of some Standard Mature Trees in the amount of $514.70. The project is proposed to start at the Delta/Riverside intersection and work West towards town. Board will discuss at next board meeting.

Old Business

NSP Funds – Patrice Allen presented her well-researched NSP proposal. Motion was made to accept NSP Fund dispersement as presented by Patrice Allen, seconded, passed unanimously all 14 present in favor, 0 opposed.

Budget – 2009 Proposed Budget was presented with no objections by Nick Motz.

Transportation Study/Bus Stops – Having a hard time getting a response from the Transportation board.

Collins Steps – No news from Gerry Burns (absent).

Housing Fund – Still in legal department at the City.

Officer Lang?/Officer Smith – Crime states were presented. Statistically, our area is at or below normal levels for the year in comparison with other neighborhoods. Car accessories are the most sought after products! Contacts: germain.love@cincinnati-oh.gov, Douglas.wiesman@cincinnati-oh.gov

Recreation Department Report

Katie Lear – Six Thanksgiving baskets were donated by KOC…they were distributed by LeBlond to six families of the Rec Center. There is a Christmas/Holiday event coming up on December 19 from 6-8PM. Transportation Study/Bus Stops – Progressing slowly, as usual.

East End Health Center – Executive Board recommends donating a one-time donation of $1000 to clinic in honor of Ian Scott’s dedicated work with the center. A motion was made to make the donation, seconded and passed in favor.

Housing Fund – Still in law.

New Business

Budget – 2009 Proposed Budget was presented. Executive Board will meet next week to tweak budget, The final budget will be presented In January 2009.

NSP Funds Spending Suggestions – Patrice Allen presented. Went around the neighborhood for input on spending. Finally spoke to 30-40 people. Input: Newsletter ($0.50 per copy per mailing and a free volunteer for layout/design/upkeep, and a website/blog for free, $1000 annual), dumpster clean up sessions (from free by Keep Cincinnati Beautiful for yard waste only to $450 for non-yard waste, etc. $1000 annually for 2 cleanups), citizen’s patrol beat, more trash cans, boulevard trees thru Urban Forestry Program ($4-5000 annually for the concrete cutting to place the trees). Costs for programs is in parenthesis. Motion was made to delay 2009 vote until January, 2009, seconded, passed 7 in favor, 0 opposed.

Elections – all were elected! Motion was made to elect slate as presented, seconded, passed 7 in favor, 0 opposed!
